Brittany Murphy Cause Of Death Released
Feb 4th, 2010
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Brittany Murphy died of community acquired pneumonia and multiple drug intoxication, the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner said in a statement released on Thursday. The actress, who died on December 21, 2009, is also listed as having had iron deficiency and anemia, at her time of death. According to the coroner’s office, the death was an accident – but the “injury” occurred because of drug intake. Her pneumonia was listed as the primary cause. Brittany’s mother and husband, Sharon Murphy and Simon Monjack, previously stated in interviews that drugs had not been the cause, with Simon telling The Associated Press that a number of the prescription medications found in the couple’s home were his. A full autopsy report is expected to be released within two weeks. The former “Clueless” star was 32 years old at the time of her death.
